It is important when cutting with thinning shears that only your thumb is working, and that your thumb is not too far into the finger rest. Otherwise, there is a risk that the blade of the scissors will run incorrectly and the teeth will catch on the straight blade. This can result in a dent in the straight blade and the scissors will likely need to be resharpened. This is not covered by the warranty.
